Joel first discovered his passion for technology at 13 when he taught himself HTML by studying "View Source" on his 486 computer. This tendency to dissect systems to their core principles, whether in HTML or human workflows, became the throughline of his automation career.

His practical automation journey began in college when he built his first freelance solution - automatically updating restaurant menus to eliminate manual busywork. After double majoring in Computer & Systems Engineering and Computer Science, he launched his career by streamlining payroll for 10,000+ New York State government employees.

Now as one of Volume7's founding Decibels, Joel combines his technical expertise with a problem-solver's mindset to develop AI-powered automation tools that transform clunky workflows into seamless processes.
